Originally from Portsmouth, Emily received a First Class BA in Fine Art at the University of Wales, Aberystwyth.
After University Emily worked in a London Gallery before spending five years living and painting in a remote area of Southern Greece, where she started seriously exploring the possibilities of the landscape in her work. In 2014 she returned to England and worked as an artist’s assistant in London before leaving to further her own career after a successful solo show.
Emily works ‘en plein air’ in oils to create vibrant, energized paintings which reflect her love for, and connection with, the landscape.
She has been included in many group shows including at the Cass Art Space in London, Artspace Portsmouth and the Lightbox Gallery, Woking. In 2021 saw her shortlisted for the Jackson’s Painting Prize and was chosen by Maggi Hambling as her winning artist at the plein air painting event ‘Paint Out Norfolk’. In 2022 Emily participated in a two week residency at ‘Create Space Wales’ in Cardigan, painting the wild and rugged coastal path around Mwnt in Ceredigion. Works from this residency formed the basis for a solo show ‘Seize the day’, at the Lightbox Gallery, Woking this year. Emily is an elected member of the Chelsea Art Society and is represented by the Tregony Gallery, Cornwall. She currently lives in Portsmouth, Hampshire.
