Edmond Praybe

Edmond Praybe studied painting at Maryland Institute, College of Art receiving a B.F.A. in 2004. He continued to study painting at the New York Studio School and earned an M.F.A. in 2012. Upon completion of his graduate studies he received the prestigious Hohenberg Travel Award for study of art in Europe. Through this award he was able to study paintings in some of the great collections in London, Amsterdam and throughout Italy. 

Edmond’s work has been shown widely at venues including Manifest Gallery, Stephen F. Austin State University in TX, The University of Mary Washington in VA, First Street, Prince Street and Bowery Galleries in New York City, The Gallery of UNC Asheville and the Chauncey Stillman Gallery at Lyme Academy of Fine Arts. He has received three Mercedes Matter Awards from New York Studio School alumni exhibitions 2019- 2021, a purchase award from UNC Asheville’s Annual Drawing Discourse in 2021 and was a National Parks artist-in-residence at Catoctin Mountain Park in 2013. Edmond is a member of Zeuxis: An Association of Still Life Painters and shows with them regularly.

In addition to his studio practice Edmond has taught classes and workshops for close to a decade. He has worked with institutions including Anne Arundel Community College, New York Studio School, Winslow Art Center, Townsend Atelier, Washington Studio School and Penn Studio School of Art.
