Michael Weller, NEAC.
Michael grew up in Winchester. He studied librarianship but realised early on he didn't want to be a librarian. Life-drawing cheered him up. Later he did a degree in fine art and studied portraiture. The New English Art Club elected Michael to membership in 2022. He teaches painting for the NEAC, Winslow Art Center and ArtDrawPaint.
Michael says “I’m an oil painter who paints from life. Nearby familiar things at home in natural light. Mugs, apples, a jar turned olive green with thinned-down paint, a red bowl, a blue bowl and a milk bottle. The arrangement of shapes and colours makes me want to paint it.”
